Festival Tips

Festival Tips
I did set myself to get at least gold trophies for all festivals (it's pretty hard to get gold trophies for fishes cause it's random even at high fishing skill). And it may be my hunch, festivals seem get harder as time passes, especially harvest festival. Hence I suggest you to get gold trophies as soon as possible. There's not many tips, but I do think there are few things I can share here.

Fishing Frenzy Contest
Before I proceed, there are few basic tips you need to know, that applies for ALL fishing contests. First, learn to see the shadow of the fishes in the lake/sea/pond. Don't fish in a place without any shadow (fish). If you don't see any shadow, go to next map then back to the current one. Cast your rod at the place with NEAR to the fish, so you don't have to wait the fish randomly finding you. Second, NEVER charge your rod. I used to do that, which it's pointless. Cause you are wasting time on charging. Not to mention if you plan to reset, those good fishes will make your heart pain. You might even decided to get 2nd place for those fishes. it's not worth it. If you really want $$ from fishes, do it another day. Third, wear either fast running shoe or Water Shoe if possible. There's benefits for both. Fast running shoes allow you to "reset the shadow" fast. Water Shoe allow you to get as close as possible to the fish.

Fishing Frenzy is probably the easiest among the fishing contests. Cause you don't have to change map. Stay at one place and keep fishing as long as there's shadow. If not, just go to next map, back to current one.

Fish Variety Contest
This is more of a time attack compared to Fishing Frenzy. In my opinion, try to get around 3 different fishes in any fishing spot you like/convenient. Then once you have got 3 NEW fishes, change to another fishing spot. Keep repeat this, you should be able to get 12++ types of fish.

Turnip Festival
There's an equipment which you can make full use in this game. That's Throwing Ring. Initially, I couldn't win this game until I got fed up and checked up the accessory. There's an accessory then boost your throwing distance. Still not convince with its ability here? Boosting its distance may seems nothing, but the ball you throw will be enough to hit the wall and deflect back to the field. So you just have to randomly throw the ball as quick as possible without any aim.

Quiz Contest
There's a rather a fun way to cheat. There seems to be always a smartass who will get all question correct. So here's the thing, follow that person. Then, "push" him out of the box. Yea, you can actually push them out and make it zero point for that person.

Also, do take note that you can control the marks for the last question. Porcoline will ask whether you want the mark to remain 1 (unfair) or go with double of the 12345 points. I don't think it makes any significant changes in result though..

Prince Point

Prince Point (PP)
I don't really plan to write about this cause I think you can get it elsewhere, maybe more accurate than mine. PP is the new system of RF, where you can use these points to carry out Order (just like a prince).

How can I get PP?
There are few ways:

  • Talking to each villagers give you 1 PP.
  • Defeating wild monster gives you 2PP. Can only accumulate 100PP/day.
  • Defeating any bosses give you 30PP.
  • Shipping items.
  • Completing each town events and quests.
  • Ranked in festival. 150PP for 1st place, 100PP for 2nd place and 50PP for 3rd place.

What can I do with PP?
Again, there are plenty. These are some of the main things you can use it.
  • Controlling typhoon (1000PP) - You can either summon typhoon or push typhoon away. Reason to summon typhoon is either you want to get Mealy Apple from Typhoon or get woods/lumbers at the cost of ruining your farm (if not well prepared). Still, typhoon is a random weather, so if you don't want it to happen, you can use this Order.
  • Increase tourists (1500PP) - Pretty useless if you don't see the importance of tourists. It will increase your tourist count up to 16.
  • Nationalize Bath (35000PP) - Huge amount of PP, but will allow you to use the bath without paying. So you can consider you have unlimited RP if you can collect that amount.
  • Expanding/Building farms and buildings with the cost of lumbers and/or stones.
  • Expanding the space of refrigerator, bag, shipping bin etc.
  • Introducing some of the new festivals - Try to get this done as soon as possible.
  • Once you have 2500 tourists, you can recruit Volcanon for 9999PP. This will then unlock Ventuswill for 30000PP.

How can I get PP fast?
As you can see from the above, the only way you can control PP is by farming big bosses. Before I proceed, you should know that you can continous farm/defeat the same boss unlimited times in a day.  After the bosses have been defeated (the time the item drops) AND before the gate (that prevents you from escaping from the room opens), teleport away. Go into the room again and you can defeat them again. So don't collect the drop item immediately. Instead, collect it next battle while waiting for the bosses disappear. This is also a way to farm boss items in a day.

Commonly, people will recommend you to farm PP by duo dogs (Crimsone and Amaranthine) in Rune Prana. Each time you do this, you will get 60PP. However, if you have fast running shoes (e.g. Rocket shoes), I suggest you to farm 4 fairies in Rune Prana (located near to Ragnarok's room) instead. It's far, but I have experienced that it is faster than duo dogs. Probably because you don't spend too much time waiting for them to disappear. Not to mentioned you can get Cores from them.

Still, I suggest you to talk to every villagers daily, unless all of them have already reached 10 friendship level, you can cut some slack. There are 2 reasons for this:
  • You will have higher chance of encountering town event.
  • You will be able to raise their friendship little by little.
  • Of course, you still get the PP you wanted.

Secret Areas

Lily Pad Area in Autumn Road
Notice the path to the bottom is blocked by trees here? This is rather special. You will need thunderstorm to clear the trees. During thunderstorm, you will notice your screen flashing once in a while in an hour. Within that hour, you will have to go to Autumn Road to look at the animation where the trees are destroyed by the thunder. Thunderstorm does not only occur during storm, even in rain it's possible.

Island in Sercerezo Hill
You should notice there are 4 places that has lily pad map. With Water Shoes, you will be able to walk to an island in the next map. However, you can't proceed to the island in Sercerezo Hill as there are trees blocking your path. This place is rather tricky to unlock. You will have to go to the left side, an click A between the rock and tree. There should be a sound. Once you have clicked, you a portal will appear at the bottom right. With this portal, you can access the island.

Sech Territory
Just before the boss battle with Aquaticus in Sech Territory. You will find a statue with family portrait. You have to bring your wife/husband and child along to unlock this area. You will also have to face Cyrstal Mammoth (which probably fairly easy to you). At the end of the map, you will be able to obtain White Stone daily. Despite being unlocked, you still need you family members to get the White Stone.

Rune Prana
These areas are quite obvious. You will need giant crops to unlock these areas. As a reward, these areas will provide you high level recipes. Once you have done this, the statue will still be there. This time, it will ask for GOLD GIANT crops. Accomplishing this again will give you even higher level recipes.
Giant Cabbage - Knight Boots (Shoe)
Golden Giant Cabbage - ??

Giant Potato - Crown (Headgear)
Golden Giant Potato - ???

Giant Pumpkin - Art of Attack, Art of Defense and Art of Magic (Accessory)
Golden Giant Pumpkin - ???

Giant Turnip - Royal Garter (armor)
Golden Giant Turnip - ???

Bread+

Bread+
The basic thing you have known is eating bread will allow you to learn a recipe. So the bread has few types, including Cooking, Farming, Weapon, Accessory and Medicine. This goes the same for Bread+. The purpose of Bread+ is that it gives you higher level of recipe. You can only learn recipe up to level 80 for normal bead. Bread+ does not have any limit. Means ONE of the ways for you to obtain recipe for ultimate weapons (You can get some of the recipe by accomplishing quests or unlock secret area). And do note that Farming Bread+ is USELESS since you don't have tools that required level 80+.

Where can I get/farm this?
You can only get Bread+ from drop item of the last boss in Sharance Maze. With this condition, there's no way to reset which bread+ you will get. But I have proven myself that lower level dungeon doesn't always give you Farming Bread+. Cause I myself only farm it in first dungeon. So the best way is to keep going through first dungeon, unless you want specific drop item from boss.

When should I use it?
Use it when you have learned EVERYTHING from the normal bread. Cause Bread+ will give you ANY recipe you haven't learn. Means it's possible to learn a level 7x recipe from Bread+, which you can also get it from normal Bread. Though you can always reset the game for the recipe.

2500 Tourists

2500 Tourists
This is probably the hardest thing to do, unless you have been doing this since early game. I don't care about the tourists until I noticed you need it to recruit both Volcanon and Ventuswill. So, I only have 2000 tourists by 4th year IGT.

So what's the tips?
Sorry to disappoint you, but there isn't any tips I can really give you for this goal. The few ways you can get tourists are:
  • Ship AT LEAST one item each day to get 1 tourist/day.
  • Make any Order. (e.g. Expanding farm/buildings/size of rack etc)
  • Advertise Selphia via Order for 1500PP. (Max. 16 tourists)
  • Going through the story again in New Game+ (obtained by clearing all board quests).
And OBVIOUSLY the "best" way to get tourists will be none other than the 2nd option unless you want to reset your game. But do consider 2 points:

1500PP
Honestly, it's quite big sum to pay for that amount of tourists. Farming bosses probably the fastest way to collect PP. Read more in Prince Point. Honestly, it still takes time.

Maximum 16 Tourists
Yea, MAXIMUM. Try to practice reset when using the Order. I have not confirm about this, but the number of tourists you can get changes hourly. I would reset the game if number of tourists is less than 10. If you get more than 10 tourists, save the game, the make the Order again. It should give you around (not exact) the same value.

Recruiting Volcanon and Ventuswill
Then again, even with 2500 tourists, both of them don't come for free. You will need to use the Order to recruit Volcanon for 9999PP and Ventuswill for 30000PP.. So good luck farming.

Edited (19/07/16): Information about the Order Advertising Selphia.
Edited (26/07/16): Using Order do increase tourist number.

Special Weapons/Equipment

FROM FORGING
1 HP per hit Weapon
This weapon is mainly useless except for farming 2 folds/10 folds steel, where you need hit Mineral Chipsquek as many times as possible. First, you need to get a super rare item known as Scrap Metal+, not the regular one. You will have to FAIL your forging. Read more in Special/Rare Items on how to obtain it. I think it takes like 10 times forging to get one.

Once you have gotten Scrap Metal+, make a weapon, any weapon you like that looks noob enough for you to recognize. I suggest either Short Sword or Dual Swords since they are fast. Upgrade it with Scrap Metal+. And your weapon will only deal 1 HP per hit.

Stat Transfer Weapon
This is rather complicated thing. It's just like Crafting where you transfer the stat from an equipment to another one as long as it's under the same category. When forging, you will have to add both Light Ore and another weapon into it. Hence the weapon should only use 4 ingredients at most.

Light Ore is used to convert a weapon to another type. People usually use this on Short Sword as you can still use shield. In case you don’t know, any other weapon that uses 2 hands will only get half stat from shield. So this is when Light Ore comes in play. For example, I want Legion (an axe) with 12k Atk stat. But I don’t like the axe moveset. So when I forge a Short Sword, I will add Legion and Light Ore into it DURING FORGING. The short sword produced will have exactly same stat as my Legion. Do keep in mind any boost/upgrade on your Legion will be missing. It will only take the base stat.

Ranged Weapon
We can actually make a weapon that hits almost half or 3/4 of the screen. I would highly recommend dual sword since it’s fast and has big range. But obviously don’t assume you can get superb high atk with this kind of setup. Here is what I recommend you to do. If you want high atk stat for Dual Sword, forge it with Light Ore and a high Atk (Axe/Hammer/Spear). If you don’t want it to  be complicated, then skip the previous step. Create your weapon with Glitta Augite. Then upgrade it with Racoon Leaf. Racoon Leaf can be obtained from Magnuto in Demon's Den.

Then followed by 10 fold steel, so you can take advantage of +320 INT. I wouldn’t recommend you to use 2 fold steel with Glitta since I don’t see much benefit having longer range than this. So use it on Atk upgrade instead.

Turnip Weapon
No, it’s not the staff turnip weapon.. You will have to forge a GOLDEN GIANT turnip onto your weapon. This will give a possibility of the monster you have defeated to drop either a normal turnip, pink or golden. Yes, it’s possible.. But sad to say, I don’t think it’s worth it. Golden turnip aside, even getting ANY turnip is hard. It takes like an hour in game to get a monster drop A turnip.. I would rather sell the golden giant turnip.

Lucky Weapon
Forging Rare Can or 4-leaf clover will increase the chance of the wild monster you defeated drop item.

Magic Plant Sword/Shield
By planting the seeds, it will eventually grow into Short Sword and Shield. And the good thing about this is that, the stat randomly picked from one of the weapons in game (You don't even need to have the recipe). Hence it's one of the way to get the ultimate equipment in early game. Though regardless of what weapon is picked, the weapon will still be Short Sword. You can always reset the game to harvest a better/best ones.

PS: Don't be a dumbass like me trying to level up the seeds. The stat do increase SLIGHTLY for higher level of seed. Though it's obviously not worth it. You are reducing the number of upgrades for the weapon only.

FROM CRAFTING
Non-elemental resistance
This is rather a "hidden" resistance you might not have seen before. It has ALMOST similar effect of Art of Magic, where it reduces non-elemental attack you received by half. There's only one way you can get this resistance. You will need to upgrade your armor with Green Core, Red Core, Yellow Core, then lastly Blue Core. The order has to be followed accordingly. The last upgrade will give you "No Res+10%".

You can't do this upgrade twice on the same armor. Since there's 5 armor parts (armor, headgear, shield, shoes and accessory), you can get by most 50% non-elemental resistance for your character. By having Art of Magic (or CRAFTED into another accessory), it will reduce the 50% damage you received by half. Hence, the maximum resistance you can get will be 75%.

Edited (25/07/16): Added Non-Elemental resistance craft.
