Festival Tips

Festival Tips
I did set myself to get at least gold trophies for all festivals (it's pretty hard to get gold trophies for fishes cause it's random even at high fishing skill). And it may be my hunch, festivals seem get harder as time passes, especially harvest festival. Hence I suggest you to get gold trophies as soon as possible. There's not many tips, but I do think there are few things I can share here.

Fishing Frenzy Contest
Before I proceed, there are few basic tips you need to know, that applies for ALL fishing contests. First, learn to see the shadow of the fishes in the lake/sea/pond. Don't fish in a place without any shadow (fish). If you don't see any shadow, go to next map then back to the current one. Cast your rod at the place with NEAR to the fish, so you don't have to wait the fish randomly finding you. Second, NEVER charge your rod. I used to do that, which it's pointless. Cause you are wasting time on charging. Not to mention if you plan to reset, those good fishes will make your heart pain. You might even decided to get 2nd place for those fishes. it's not worth it. If you really want $$ from fishes, do it another day. Third, wear either fast running shoe or Water Shoe if possible. There's benefits for both. Fast running shoes allow you to "reset the shadow" fast. Water Shoe allow you to get as close as possible to the fish.

Fishing Frenzy is probably the easiest among the fishing contests. Cause you don't have to change map. Stay at one place and keep fishing as long as there's shadow. If not, just go to next map, back to current one.

Fish Variety Contest
This is more of a time attack compared to Fishing Frenzy. In my opinion, try to get around 3 different fishes in any fishing spot you like/convenient. Then once you have got 3 NEW fishes, change to another fishing spot. Keep repeat this, you should be able to get 12++ types of fish.

Turnip Festival
There's an equipment which you can make full use in this game. That's Throwing Ring. Initially, I couldn't win this game until I got fed up and checked up the accessory. There's an accessory then boost your throwing distance. Still not convince with its ability here? Boosting its distance may seems nothing, but the ball you throw will be enough to hit the wall and deflect back to the field. So you just have to randomly throw the ball as quick as possible without any aim.

Quiz Contest
There's a rather a fun way to cheat. There seems to be always a smartass who will get all question correct. So here's the thing, follow that person. Then, "push" him out of the box. Yea, you can actually push them out and make it zero point for that person.

Also, do take note that you can control the marks for the last question. Porcoline will ask whether you want the mark to remain 1 (unfair) or go with double of the 12345 points. I don't think it makes any significant changes in result though..

Prince Point

Prince Point (PP)
I don't really plan to write about this cause I think you can get it elsewhere, maybe more accurate than mine. PP is the new system of RF, where you can use these points to carry out Order (just like a prince).

How can I get PP?
There are few ways:

  • Talking to each villagers give you 1 PP.
  • Defeating wild monster gives you 2PP. Can only accumulate 100PP/day.
  • Defeating any bosses give you 30PP.
  • Shipping items.
  • Completing each town events and quests.
  • Ranked in festival. 150PP for 1st place, 100PP for 2nd place and 50PP for 3rd place.

What can I do with PP?
Again, there are plenty. These are some of the main things you can use it.
  • Controlling typhoon (1000PP) - You can either summon typhoon or push typhoon away. Reason to summon typhoon is either you want to get Mealy Apple from Typhoon or get woods/lumbers at the cost of ruining your farm (if not well prepared). Still, typhoon is a random weather, so if you don't want it to happen, you can use this Order.
  • Increase tourists (1500PP) - Pretty useless if you don't see the importance of tourists. It will increase your tourist count up to 16.
  • Nationalize Bath (35000PP) - Huge amount of PP, but will allow you to use the bath without paying. So you can consider you have unlimited RP if you can collect that amount.
  • Expanding/Building farms and buildings with the cost of lumbers and/or stones.
  • Expanding the space of refrigerator, bag, shipping bin etc.
  • Introducing some of the new festivals - Try to get this done as soon as possible.
  • Once you have 2500 tourists, you can recruit Volcanon for 9999PP. This will then unlock Ventuswill for 30000PP.

How can I get PP fast?
As you can see from the above, the only way you can control PP is by farming big bosses. Before I proceed, you should know that you can continous farm/defeat the same boss unlimited times in a day.  After the bosses have been defeated (the time the item drops) AND before the gate (that prevents you from escaping from the room opens), teleport away. Go into the room again and you can defeat them again. So don't collect the drop item immediately. Instead, collect it next battle while waiting for the bosses disappear. This is also a way to farm boss items in a day.

Commonly, people will recommend you to farm PP by duo dogs (Crimsone and Amaranthine) in Rune Prana. Each time you do this, you will get 60PP. However, if you have fast running shoes (e.g. Rocket shoes), I suggest you to farm 4 fairies in Rune Prana (located near to Ragnarok's room) instead. It's far, but I have experienced that it is faster than duo dogs. Probably because you don't spend too much time waiting for them to disappear. Not to mentioned you can get Cores from them.

Still, I suggest you to talk to every villagers daily, unless all of them have already reached 10 friendship level, you can cut some slack. There are 2 reasons for this:
  • You will have higher chance of encountering town event.
  • You will be able to raise their friendship little by little.
  • Of course, you still get the PP you wanted.

Edited (26/07/16): Amount of PP gained from festivals.

Secret Areas

Lily Pad Area in Autumn Road
Notice the path to the bottom is blocked by trees here? This is rather special. You will need thunderstorm to clear the trees. During thunderstorm, you will notice your screen flashing once in a while in an hour. Within that hour, you will have to go to Autumn Road to look at the animation where the trees are destroyed by the thunder. Thunderstorm does not only occur during storm, even in rain it's possible.

Island in Sercerezo Hill
You should notice there are 4 places that has lily pad map. With Water Shoes, you will be able to walk to an island in the next map. However, you can't proceed to the island in Sercerezo Hill as there are trees blocking your path. This place is rather tricky to unlock. You will have to go to the left side, an click A between the rock and tree. There should be a sound. Once you have clicked, you a portal will appear at the bottom right. With this portal, you can access the island.

Sech Territory
Just before the boss battle with Aquaticus in Sech Territory. You will find a statue with family portrait. You have to bring your wife/husband and child along to unlock this area. You will also have to face Cyrstal Mammoth (which probably fairly easy to you). At the end of the map, you will be able to obtain White Stone daily. Despite being unlocked, you still need you family members to get the White Stone.

Rune Prana
These areas are quite obvious. You will need giant crops to unlock these areas. As a reward, these areas will provide you high level recipes. Once you have done this, the statue will still be there. This time, it will ask for GOLD GIANT crops. Accomplishing this again will give you even higher level recipes.
Giant Cabbage - Knight Boots (Shoe)
Golden Giant Cabbage - ??

Giant Potato - Crown (Headgear)
Golden Giant Potato - ???

Giant Pumpkin - Art of Attack, Art of Defense and Art of Magic (Accessory)
Golden Giant Pumpkin - ???

Giant Turnip - Royal Garter (armor)
Golden Giant Turnip - ???

Bread+

Bread+
The basic thing you have known is eating bread will allow you to learn a recipe. So the bread has few types, including Cooking, Farming, Weapon, Accessory and Medicine. This goes the same for Bread+. The purpose of Bread+ is that it gives you higher level of recipe. You can only learn recipe up to level 80 for normal bead. Bread+ does not have any limit. Means ONE of the ways for you to obtain recipe for ultimate weapons (You can get some of the recipe by accomplishing quests or unlock secret area). And do note that Farming Bread+ is USELESS since you don't have tools that required level 80+.

Where can I get/farm this?
You can only get Bread+ from drop item of the last boss in Sharance Maze. With this condition, there's no way to reset which bread+ you will get. But I have proven myself that lower level dungeon doesn't always give you Farming Bread+. Cause I myself only farm it in first dungeon. So the best way is to keep going through first dungeon, unless you want specific drop item from boss.

When should I use it?
Use it when you have learned EVERYTHING from the normal bread. Cause Bread+ will give you ANY recipe you haven't learn. Means it's possible to learn a level 7x recipe from Bread+, which you can also get it from normal Bread. Though you can always reset the game for the recipe.

2500 Tourists

2500 Tourists
This is probably the hardest thing to do, unless you have been doing this since early game. I don't care about the tourists until I noticed you need it to recruit both Volcanon and Ventuswill. So, I only have 2000 tourists by 4th year IGT.

So what's the tips?
Sorry to disappoint you, but there isn't any tips I can really give you for this goal. The few ways you can get tourists are:
  • Ship AT LEAST one item each day to get 1 tourist/day.
  • Make any Order. (e.g. Expanding farm/buildings/size of rack etc)
  • Advertise Selphia via Order for 1500PP. (Max. 16 tourists)
  • Going through the story again in New Game+ (obtained by clearing all board quests).
And OBVIOUSLY the "best" way to get tourists will be none other than the 2nd option unless you want to reset your game. But do consider 2 points:

1500PP
Honestly, it's quite big sum to pay for that amount of tourists. Farming bosses probably the fastest way to collect PP. Read more in Prince Point. Honestly, it still takes time.

Maximum 16 Tourists
Yea, MAXIMUM. Try to practice reset when using the Order. I have not confirm about this, but the number of tourists you can get changes hourly. I would reset the game if number of tourists is less than 10. If you get more than 10 tourists, save the game, the make the Order again. It should give you around (not exact) the same value.

Recruiting Volcanon and Ventuswill
Then again, even with 2500 tourists, both of them don't come for free. You will need to use the Order to recruit Volcanon for 9999PP and Ventuswill for 30000PP.. So good luck farming.

Edited (19/07/16): Information about the Order Advertising Selphia.
Edited (26/07/16): Using Order do increase tourist number.

Special Weapons/Equipment

FROM FORGING
1 HP per hit Weapon
This weapon is mainly useless except for farming 2 folds/10 folds steel, where you need hit Mineral Chipsquek as many times as possible. First, you need to get a super rare item known as Scrap Metal+, not the regular one. You will have to FAIL your forging. Read more in Special/Rare Items on how to obtain it. I think it takes like 10 times forging to get one.

Once you have gotten Scrap Metal+, make a weapon, any weapon you like that looks noob enough for you to recognize. I suggest either Short Sword or Dual Swords since they are fast. Upgrade it with Scrap Metal+. And your weapon will only deal 1 HP per hit.

Stat Transfer Weapon
This is rather complicated thing. It's just like Crafting where you transfer the stat from an equipment to another one as long as it's under the same category. When forging, you will have to add both Light Ore and another weapon into it. Hence the weapon should only use 4 ingredients at most.

Light Ore is used to convert a weapon to another type. People usually use this on Short Sword as you can still use shield. In case you don’t know, any other weapon that uses 2 hands will only get half stat from shield. So this is when Light Ore comes in play. For example, I want Legion (an axe) with 12k Atk stat. But I don’t like the axe moveset. So when I forge a Short Sword, I will add Legion and Light Ore into it DURING FORGING. The short sword produced will have exactly same stat as my Legion. Do keep in mind any boost/upgrade on your Legion will be missing. It will only take the base stat.

Ranged Weapon
We can actually make a weapon that hits almost half or 3/4 of the screen. I would highly recommend dual sword since it’s fast and has big range. But obviously don’t assume you can get superb high atk with this kind of setup. Here is what I recommend you to do. If you want high atk stat for Dual Sword, forge it with Light Ore and a high Atk (Axe/Hammer/Spear). If you don’t want it to  be complicated, then skip the previous step. Create your weapon with Glitta Augite. Then upgrade it with Racoon Leaf. Racoon Leaf can be obtained from Magnuto in Demon's Den.

Then followed by 10 fold steel, so you can take advantage of +320 INT. I wouldn’t recommend you to use 2 fold steel with Glitta since I don’t see much benefit having longer range than this. So use it on Atk upgrade instead.

Turnip Weapon
No, it’s not the staff turnip weapon.. You will have to forge a GOLDEN GIANT turnip onto your weapon. This will give a possibility of the monster you have defeated to drop either a normal turnip, pink or golden. Yes, it’s possible.. But sad to say, I don’t think it’s worth it. Golden turnip aside, even getting ANY turnip is hard. It takes like an hour in game to get a monster drop A turnip.. I would rather sell the golden giant turnip.

Lucky Weapon
Forging Rare Can or 4-leaf clover will increase the chance of the wild monster you defeated drop item.

Magic Plant Sword/Shield
By planting the seeds, it will eventually grow into Short Sword and Shield. And the good thing about this is that, the stat randomly picked from one of the weapons in game (You don't even need to have the recipe). Hence it's one of the way to get the ultimate equipment in early game. Though regardless of what weapon is picked, the weapon will still be Short Sword. You can always reset the game to harvest a better/best ones.

PS: Don't be a dumbass like me trying to level up the seeds. The stat do increase SLIGHTLY for higher level of seed. Though it's obviously not worth it. You are reducing the number of upgrades for the weapon only.

FROM CRAFTING
Non-elemental resistance
This is rather a "hidden" resistance you might not have seen before. It has ALMOST similar effect of Art of Magic, where it reduces non-elemental attack you received by half. There's only one way you can get this resistance. You will need to upgrade your armor with Green Core, Red Core, Yellow Core, then lastly Blue Core. The order has to be followed accordingly. The last upgrade will give you "No Res+10%".

You can't do this upgrade twice on the same armor. Since there's 5 armor parts (armor, headgear, shield, shoes and accessory), you can get by most 50% non-elemental resistance for your character. By having Art of Magic (or CRAFTED into another accessory), it will reduce the 50% damage you received by half. Hence, the maximum resistance you can get will be 75%.

Edited (25/07/16): Added Non-Elemental resistance craft.

Seasonal Headdress

Four Seasons
Four Seasons is a headgear equipment. So what's so special about this headdress? Honestly, it's not the top equipment in the game but it's pretty interesting stuff. You probably won't notice this unless you focus a lot on crafting or trying to ship every single items available. To forge this Seasonal Headdress, you will need 4 other headdresses, which are Spring Headdress, Summer Headdress, Autumn Headdress and Winter Headdress. If you look at your crafting list, you will notice you can't any of those. This is because you can only get those from the fairies.

Fairies
Well, you might not notice, I for one did not notice this until I found out the items that were missing. Do you ever wonder what's the purpose of the ponds in some of the map? If you toss item into it. There will be fairy talking to you. Just like the Goddess in HM series.

Spring Headdress
You will meet Yellow fairy at Spring Spring (weird name for sure). She will requests for something big, so obviously she referred to any giant flower/crop. With this you get Spring Headdress.

Summer Headdress
You will meet Red fairy at Summer Spring. She will give you Summer Headdress for anything you throw into the pond.

Autumn Headdress
You will meet Green fairy at Autumn Spring. She will take any gem you mined.

Winter Headdress
You will meet Blue fairy at Winter Spring. She will requests for flower. Moondrop, pink cat, anything cheap will do.

Special/Rare Items

Special/Rare Items
These are a list of items that you might not noticed its existence, or it has special effect.

FROM DROP/WILD ITEMS
Ayngondaia Lawn
This item's description says nothing about the effect except saying how special it is.. Of course there's a reason why this item is located in Revival Cave, where you have to defeat Ancient Bone.. Having this item in your inventory gives you a +1 life. It has the effect of Reviver Seed (Pokemon Mystery Dungeon) or Enduring Soul (Shin Megami Tensei) or whatever you can think of..

Glitta Augite
You can get Glitta Augite from Shining Tree, which you probably think it’s useless since the beginning. The purpose of this tree is that when you chop it with axe, it will produce lumber. But don’t forget to use Magnifying Glass to observe your tree’s HP. When it drops to zero, it means your tree is gone. You can use Withered grass and hoed it to increase its HP though. You should get about 2 Glitta Augite if you axe it from 100HP to zero.

The purpose of this item is to boost the atk range of your weapon. It has the same effect as Racoon Leaf from Magnuto in Demon's Den. Except Racoon Leaf boost extra INT 40+. Read Special Weapons for more details.

10 Fold/2 Fold Steel
Another rare item that you might not have seen before. You can get these at Leon Karnak killing Mineral Chipsqueek. It's red in color and it has HP bar a lot longer than the usual one, so pay attention at their HP. I would consider this as one of the “special” type of monster. It only has 4 HP. Each hit you do, he will either drop 2 fold or 10 folds steel. It’s 100% drop rate no worries. So if you have good weapon, you probably get only 1 of these from him. So I would suggest you to make a weapon called “1 HP per hit” weapon.

These items sound as imbalance as you think. It will multiply the boost stat of your previous item. For example, if you upgrade your staff with Racoon Leaf, you will get +40 INT. Then if you upgrade it with 2 fold steel, you will get ANOTHER +80 INT. Means total of + 120 INT from 2 upgrades. So what about 10 folds? Yea, sorry to disappoint you. It’s not 10 times, but 8 times. You will get +320 INT after you used Racoon Leaf. Well, better than nothing. Thoguh don’t think you can abuse this, you can’t stack it. Means you can only use 10 fold and 2 fold each on a same weapon once. Additional won’t give you any effect.

Crystal Seeds
You can get Crystal Seed from a tree at Sercerezo Hill. The seeds are based on the season you are currently in, you get Blue in Spring, Green in Summer, Red in Autumn and White in Winter. And they takes almost longer time than gold seeds (Except turnip) to mature. Harvesting these seeds are some of the board quests, which eventually unlocks Emery Flower seed in shop.

White Stone
White Stone can only be obtained once you have married and your child has grown up. You will need both of them in your party to pass through a locked area in Sech Territory. After passing through the status, you will have to face Crystal Mammoth and some other cheap monsters. Do take note that even if you have unlocked the secret area, you still need both of them to take White Stone EACH day. This item is not really "that" important boosting your own stat. However, it can be used to make Dolphin Brooch, which make your family member as strong as you.

Mealy Apple
Mealy Apple is a rare drop item from a special monster called Typhoon (tamable as well). You can only meet this guy at Sercerezo Hill Bridge during the hurricane. Good thing you don't need this item much for ultimate weapon. However, people tend to abuse this item as it gives a lot NEGATIVE stat in upgrade. If a weapon upgraded with Mealy Apple followed by Object X, it will reverse the negative stat.

Rune Sphere Shard/Wind Dragon Tooth
Both of these items I would considered to be the hardest items to be obtained. Cause you can only get these items from last 3 dungeons in Sharance Maze. You have to defeat the final bosses in the maze, Ragnarok for Rune Sphere Shard and Ventuswill for Wind Dragon Tooth. And the drop rate is pretty low as well, or so I heard.  :P Do take note that you probably need these items to get the ultimate weapons.

FROM MINING
Invincible Stone
You might not even notice you have hammered this ore. The raw material itself is obviously invincible. I can usually get it a lot in Spring Field from mining. As the name stated, when you forge it with your weapon, it will turns invincible. It’s for fun obviously, you don’t get any additional benefit.

Rune Crystal
Rune Crystal is mined from rune crystal... Well, you probably don't know what's rune crystal. Rune crystal is the blue crystal where it produced rune sphere (the one restores your RP when you pass through it) when you hammered it. There's a EXTREMELY low chance it will drop Rune Crystal. You will probably have higher chance with Mining skill at level 70++. It does not give any special effect during forging, but most of the ultimate weapons need it. You can find lots of rune crystals in Autumn Road, though there are some in caves as well.

You can also get Rune Crystal from Fairies (Blue, Green, Red & Yellow) bosses.Though the drop rate is far lower than their respective Cores.

Light Ore
I get most of my Light Ore from mining at Summer Field. Light Ore is rather complicated. It only has purpose when you want to forge a weapon with different stat or attack moveset. For example, the stat of an axe in dual sword etc. Read more in Special Weapons.

Shade Stone
You can get Shade Stone from mining a place that turns dark when you go to the bottom, notice its purpose now? Though up till now I have no idea what the item does.

FROM FISHING
Rare Can
Despite its name, it's not that "rare". Ever fished a Rare Can and curse it? Since it cannot be stacked, you will probably ship it. Here’s what Rare Can is for. When you forge a weapon with Rare Can, it increases the rate of the rare item dropped by a monster when you killed it with your weapon. Honestly, I still don’t think it’s worth the upgrade.

Rockfish
You might have notice there's a place where you can fish on the ground in Sercerezo Hill. Commonly, you will catch Sand Flounder here. However, that's not the only fish you can find here. You can get Rockfish as well, which is pretty rare and can only be caught here. The shadow is obviously lighter than Sand Flounder.

Legendary Scale/Dragon Fin
I believed you have fished both of these item but still they are considered to be two of the rarest stuff you can get from fishing. So you will find the shadow pretty light in the water. Dragon Fin has no additional effect for weapon. Weapon forged with Legendary Scale will have ability to drain HP.

Melody Bottle
Melody Bottle is a drop item from Siren in Rune Prana. It's not actually rare drop. However, it's slightly special compared to other drop item which you might have missed it. The item is dropped into the pond. But fear not, you can just cast your fishing rod, and withdraw it.

FROM FORGING
Scrap Metal+
Usually, when you failed to forge a weapon, it will turns out to be Scrap Metal. However, there's a rare chance that Scrap Metal+ (is fatter and has pores on it) becomes the product instead. You can easily get this by getting yourself a scrap metal. Keep make a weapon (without any recipe of course) with only it. Repeating this process ought to give you Scrap Metal+. Upgrading weapon with this item will make the weapon deal only 1 damage. It's useful when farming Double/10-fold steel. Read more in Special Weapons.

FROM HARVESTING
4 Leaf Clover
Clover on the other hand increases your luck. Not really sure about it, but probably the chances of you missing treasure chest or higher item drop rate from monster.

Event Reset

Event Reset
Well, this is the main reason why I am still playing Rune factory 4 I suppose. I have been waiting for Meg’s event for 4 years IGT. And now, I have learned how to reset for event. Firstly, try to get the main participant of your event as your companion. For example, let’s take Meg, I will take Meg as my companion. So obviously when Meg leaves you, it means there’s an event that involved Meg. And if they leave you before night, it doesn’t mean there’s an event. It means your friendship with that particular fellow is too weak!

You can try to take advantage of another slot as well. For example, Bado. If you are Meg’s fan, you will know that there’s an event that Meg and Bado are participants. But this is not marriage-trigger event. So if both Bado and Meg leave you, you can just reset. OR, if you know that the next event involved Porcoline, you can invite him instead. Then when both leave you, bingo, there’s HIGH CHANCE you are on the right track. That applies for others as well.

Well, I think this is the basic thing everyone has been telling you, or maybe you even know it’s “general knowledge”. Question is WHEN will event happens? Here’s something you probably don’t know. Event day is fixed, but which event triggered is not. So let’s say I am currently on 4th Spring, the game fixed 8th Spring as Event Day. No matter how many times I reset, the outcome will be same. I won’t get any event from 5th Spring to 7th Spring. 8th Spring will be your big day. And keep in mind event can happen during birthdays. Usually it’s 2 days before festive or after the festive.

Next question, how do I know it’s 8th Spring? This is the tough job. You will have to spend some time knowing this day. You will have to talk to everyone in the village, and you probably have to wait like 7am for everyone to wake up. Once you have talked to everyone, head back to your Diary. If below your “Save” has “Town Event”, then bingo, it’s an event day. Otherwise, no. Just go to bed and see for the next day. There’s another possibility that short event/animation occurred where it’s not put under “Town Event”. So don’t ignore those as well.

Once you know it’s on 8th Spring, no, don’t save your freaking game. Reset your game. Go back to 4th Spring and play as usual. You will have to save before going to bed on 7th Spring. And obviously, if the participant doesn’t leave you, just reset. If he/she did, you will have to chat with every villager to confirm the event. If you know who’s involved, your job will be easier. So go directly to the participants and talk to them. I would not recommend you to do any farm work. It might be a waste of time if that’s not the event you wanted. But trust me, it’s better to waste 1~2hrs farm work rather than waiting for seasons for your event to happen.

Goals

Like I said before, this game can actually give you long play time if you are willing to play. It really depends on the player. These are some of the goals (arranged with ascending difficulty) you can try:

About Everything

About Me, Meg and RF4
Hi everyone. I bet lots of you been wondering, what's the point of writing about this game, Rune Factory 4 (RF4), which was released around 2013 now. Well, there was quite number of games I have to catch up that time. Probably Monster Hunter (MH) took most of the time. Till recently I finally picked up the game back. In fact I have stopped playing the game for like 3 times. And each time I stopped, it took me a day to get used/remembered how and where I have played. I bet this goes the same to most of you. Or maybe you didn't even bothered playing it back, lol.

Obviously there was a reason why I stopped, yet I continued playing this game. Yea, the main reason was I felt I did not complete the game. And it was mainly because the last time I stopped, I wasn't even married. And I have already played the game for 3rd year in game time (IGT) being a bachelor. So I picked up this game for the last time, and finally I got married. So, guess who is my wife? Someone you need 4 years IGT to get married? If you are really an RF4 fan, you can actually guess this. It's Margaret (Meg I will call her from now on). If you have did your homework, you will notice Meg has 4 events, while the other bachelorettes only 1 or 2. So what's so special about this extra 2~3 events! Obviously, thanks to the RANDOM event. Unlike the other RF or Harvest Moon (HM) games, the events here are unpredictable. You can play this game for 5 IGT without getting married to Meg. So what I am saying, Meg is the hardest bachlorette you can get, just joking. Lol. So this time, I gave my "best" playing this game for Meg's sake. I learned how to "reset" this event system in this game, which I wrote in one of the post.

While getting married, I noticed there were a lot of things that I haven't achieved. Honestly, I thought this is one of the game that can give you a long play time, IF YOU WANT. If you simply planned to get the plot done, get married. I bet you can get this game done in less than 50hrs. For me, I have played this game for more than 200hrs. I bet there are freaks played this game longer than me, so I am not showing off. But just to tell you there are plenty of "goals" you can set for yourself.

About Blog
As mentioned, this game is probably "old" by now. And a lot have stopped playing this game. So no point for me to write those minor detail. In fact, if I will to write those, I am simply copying others idea. Lol. So I will write about details that is pretty rare, that you might not even noticed when playing this game. So basically this blog is for those who planned to be a maniac in RF4.. :P

And if you feel that I have missed out anything "special" about the game. Feel free to comment or pm me.. I won't promise I will write tips/walkthrough for it, but I will see what I can do about it. ;)

PS: Credits to those who have wrote tips/information about this game! Cause without them, some of the information here probably won't even exist.

198 Million Gold

198 Million Gold
So what's the point of having that amount of cash? Well, this is the last goal you can aim for cash, that's to buy a freaking house. After accomplishing this, money is probably nothing to you. I don't even care much about my crops after this.

So ever wonder how you can get 198 million to buy that house? Even up to year 4, I only have like 20 million in my pocket. So here is the tip to make millions of cash. If you look at your cooking list, you will find these few dishes that can help you make money.
  • Gold Juice – Requires all golden crops and Emery Flower, sells for 800k
  • Ultimate Curry – Requires Emery Flower, sells for 500k
  • Royal Curry – Requires Golden Turnip, sells for 250k
  • Turnip Heaven – Requires Golden Turnip, sells for 150k
Here you can see that there are 2 ingredients appear the most, Emery Flower and Golden Turnip. However, do consider that if you want to make money fast, you can’t rely on harvesting. You will buy instead. Emery Flower costs 500k, while Golden Turnip costs 100k. Obviously Golden Turnip sounds more reasonable. By the time you buy Emery Flower you earned almost nothing. With golden turnip, you will either make Royal Curry or Turnip Heaven. Both have their benefits, but I suggest you to go for Royal Curry. You will have to buy like 3 ingredients from granny. Another one is blood, you get from Arch-demon. You can easily farm them at the 2 rooms before the boss battle (2 dog statues) in Leon Karnak. Try to make ranged weapon that can kill them in a hit, probably ranged dual swords. I can get like 15 bloods in 3 hrs in game. You can even get Protein from Minotaur, so it's not a bad deal, isn't it?

With this dish, you will earn about 140k per dish. Turnip Heaven on the other hand earns you about 50k per dish, but you can easily mass produce the normal and pink turnips. Though I think it’s quite a waste of time.

Golden Turnip
You can get golden turnip seed from Auther’s request where he asked for Turnip Heaven. He will give you a free seed. So I suggested you to take the request. Then delete it. Come back after 2-3 days and take the request again. He should give you another seed. So make full use of the request before you harvest the golden turnip.

Golden turnip requires about 120 days to grow, that goes the same for Emery flower. So you wouldn’t want to wait for a year to grow that turnip. So here’s how I did, get Formula A,B and C. Then sprinkle it on your golden turnip with all these 3, you should be able to get a growth rate of 4.5. Means you should get your turnip within a season. Obviously don’t waste the formula, try to put other golden seed around the golden turnip to make full use of the 4.5 times growth rate.

Once you have gotten your golden turnip, you can do 4 things.
  • Make Turnip Heaven for Aurther, in return you will be able to buy the seed.*
  • Make Turnip Heaven to tame Terrable.
  •  Make Royal Curry to tame Chimera.
  •  Ship it so you can buy Golden Turnip from granny. *

Obviously you should notice that you only harvest 3 golden turnips (probably), so you can only choose 3 of these. I would recommend you to do the asterisks first. Once you can buy golden turnip, you can start making money. Keep making the Royal Curry and ship it.. I would highly recommend you to take advantage of your shop. You probably can earn 1.5 times more than you sell it in shipping bin. Also, do take note that the level of your ingredient can increase you dish price.

Emery Flower
You will only unlock Emery Flower from quest after you have harvested all 4 Crystal Flower. You can get Crystal Flower in Schehole Hill. The seed you get depends on the season. You get Blue during Spring, Green during Summer, Red during Autumn and White during Winter. Yea, start getting and planting these seeds, otherwise you will need another year to get Emery Flower’s seed.

The method of planting Emery Flower is about the same with golden turnip. Each seed costs about 55k and provide you 2 units, while golden turnip costs 10k and provide you 3 units. It’s not like I asked you to ignore this flower. There’s a way to benefit from it. Here is my suggestion, Golden Turnip is fairly cheap when you compared with Emery Flower even though both takes 120 days to grow. So I suggested you to BUY Golden Turnip, but PLANT Emery Flower in Winter Field. By the time you get Emery flower, you can make Gold Juice. I have been keeping all my golden crops rather than selling them (unless you want to level up the seed). If that’s the case, you will only need to buy 100k for Golden Turnip, 55k for flower seed..  It will only cost you like 200k for the ingredient and you can sell it for 800k. Profit of 600k per dish. Far more efficient than you sell Royal Curry. And do keep in mind there might be 10% discount in shop.. You can get Golden Turnip for 90k during that time, so buy more during that period.

New House's Benefits
Honestly.. It's kinda of a spoiler.. There's almost no benefit having this house.. You can sleep here, but you can't save. You can put your furniture here, but I don't see much of a point cause you can't "teleport" here. So it's a waste of a time making your home here. The only real benefit you can get is probably you can buy gold seeds from the guy who sold you the house. It's obviously cheaper.. But yea? What's the point of buying gold seeds now? Lol.
